I learned more about how these techniques work and even ways to use them. I liked how in the video for the crane they used it to introduce a character. Starting at the subject's feet and leading to the head they created a powerful shot. With the slider I thought it was interesting how odd they made their camera movements. Using the slider you can smoothly get close to a subject without using zoom and it again creates a very powerful effect. The last technique is the wide aperture where focusing on a subject it blurs the background. This is my favorite of the techniques because I enjoy the simplicity as well as complicity. It is simple because of it's emphasis on one subject but the bokeh in the background adds a sort of complicity. I would like to use it as an establishing shot where it starts focused on something with a blurred background but then focuses on what is behind it.
